Ethan turns 5! With his mom, Wendy's oldest, Rachel.

Grandma celebrating with her boy just a few days after left rotator cuff surgery.

Birthday dinner - hotdogs.
Well, I am a little behind in my blog, as usual.  Ethan, #4 of our 7 grandkids, turned 5 on April 13, the day after I had my left rotator cuff surgery. (I am so glad God only gave me two shoulders!)

Here is Ethan getting ready to dye Easter Eggs.  Not sure why we need googles for this project, but it makes a cute picture!

Nicolas, our first grandchild, will be 14 in June!

Don't you just love the look of the freshly colored eggs!

After the egg were done, we had a piano concert.  Ethan is taking lessons and has already learned several songs by heart.

Easter Egg hunt at church - you won't lose your bucket if you keep it on your head!
I love it when the daffodils and tulips bloom!  These are in our front yard.

Easter morning.

You are never too old for an Easter basket!

Grandpa and his buddy!
I have been recovering from my shoulder sugery.  It is frustrating, as I have so many things I need to do to get the house ready to rent out and the motorhome ready for travel, but I am trying to be patient.  We did finally get the new tile floor done in the kitchen and have already had some interest in renting the house from the Armed Forces rental site on line, so progress is being made!

We spent Mother's Day weekend camping with Rachel, Stacy, Nicolas, & Ethan at Delle, Utah.  It is about 40 miles west of Toole, Utah on I-80; basically a wide spot in the road with a gas station.  But lots of ATV trails.  It was great for me to get out of the house,  this recovering stuff is really getting old.  The weekend started out beautiful, but ended with some excitement!  Well, just look at the pictures.......

Looking east towards Grantsville, Utah

Ethan looks like quite the professional rider!!

Nicolas with his new KTM 200.

Nicolas' first ride on the new bike.

Bones, Nicolas' dog, found this bottle in the desert!

Ethan and Grandpa.

Rachel got a new ATV.

Brothers in their matching Fox jerseys.

Two worn out dogs.
Okay, that was the fun part!!  Some rain had been predicted for saturday night into sunday morning.  Monday morning, when we had planned to leave, it had been raining non-stop for about 30 hours, the desert clay had turned to glue, and it was still raining!
Rachel and Stacy are stuck - good thing he has 4-wheel drive.

Oops, we are stuck too, but Stacy and his 4- wheel drive to the rescue!  Stacy was able to pull us out of this hole.

Three hours later even the 4-wheel drive couldn't help with this one and we had to call the to truck!
It coninued to pour throughout all of this.  The tow truck driver was great and got us out after much manuveuring, slipping an sliding.  The only damage to the motorhome was the tube under the rig that holds the dump hose got smashed!! A very cheap fix.  We made it home in one very muddy piece and can't wait to go out to the west desert again for the Memorial Day weekend - with no rain?!
